Speaker launches Parliament’s Corporate Strategic Plan for the period of 2026 to 2030

The Rt Hon Speaker, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has launched Parliament’s Corporate Strategic Plan for the period of 2026 to 2030.

The plan is designed to guide the work of Parliament, strengthen oversight and improve service delivery, while promoting transparency and accountability.

He noted that the document would help build a more responsive and practical institution that serves the needs of citizens.

The speaker laucnhed the plan on Thursday Febraury 13.

Guests present at the launch included the Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga; the Deputy Minority Leader, Patricia Appiagyei; the First Deputy Speaker, Bernard Ahiafor; Clerk to Parliament, Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror; Mrs. Mary Addah, Executive Director of Transparency International Ghana; and Mr. Hooman Nouruzi, Head of Political, Security and Governance Team (FCDO).

Outlining the content of the Strategic Plan chapter by chapter, the Chairperson of the Corporate Strategic Plan Steering Committee Bernard Ahiafor, noted that the strategic plan reflects the aspirations of Parliament as an institution and the national plan.

He commended members of the Technical Committee for their exceptional professionalism and expressed a deep sense of appreciation to the Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin for his leadership role.

He aslo acknowledged the support from the Parliamentary Service Board, MPs, Management and Staff of the Parliamentary Service and development partners.

Majority Leader Hon. Mahama Ayariga has disclosed that the strategic plan went through wide consultation and it will enhance the work of Members of Parliament as well as improving the services offered by the Parliamentary Staff.

He assured the commitment of the leadership to fully implement the strategic plan.
